Could Naughty Dog already be hard at work on Uncharted 4? Find out why some think the studio is already working on the latest adventures of Nathan Drake, and when one retailer expects the Uncharted 4 release date to arrive.

It hasn't even been two years since Nathan Drake last graced a PlayStation console, in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, but new rumors have more than a few Uncharted fans wondering just how long they'll be forced to wait for the Uncharted 4 release date.

Though the franchise remained conspicuously absent from the PlayStation 4 unveiling, despite an appearance by fellow Naughty Dog project , many fans are beginning to wonder if the Uncharted 4 release date could be revealed next week during E3 2013. Outside of the general hope that Nathan Drake's ultra-cinematic adventures will find a home on Sony's next PlayStation, several recent updates to the Naughty Dog Jobs page have fans wondering if Uncharted 4 might already be in-development at the Santa Monica studio.

It would appear Drake's Deception may have been the last Uncharted game after all. NeoGaf.com's forums for discussion on the Last of Us linked a video detailing the facial and character animation for characters like Joel and Ellie and came across an interesting post.

In the video described, a disembodied developer working on the Last of Us says and I quote: "Now that the Uncharted series is over, we had the opportunity to re-evaluate certain things {X}.

Naturally, Naughty Dog hasn't outright made an official statement reflecting the statements of the developer (unless I missed it somewhere down the line of my hiatus) and I have a feeling they probably won't unless they know they can make bank on something else altogether (like The Last of Us). However, if it does turn out to be true, what say you on the matter?

LittleBigPlanet Vita could release on September 21, according to an updated release schedule published by GAME. VideoGamer spotted the date on the retailer's website earlier today alongside revised release dates for PS3 kart racer LittleBigPlanet Karting, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Game of the Year Edition.

According to the website, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will follow two weeks after LBP Vita, hitting both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on October 5. LittleBigPlanet Karting will allegedly follow a month later on November 9. Uncharted 3's Game of the Year Edition, meanwhile, will ship on September 21, the website says.

Retailer release dates, of course, should generally to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, GAME’s decision to revise release dates for a variety of first-party Sony titles could suggest that the retailer knows something the rest of us don't... [SOURCE]

Earlier today, website PlayStation.Systemlink posted renders of Eddy Raja and claimed that the character would be returning in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. After such a radical claim was made, the story caught the attention of Uncharted faithful and even spurred some to accuse the site of spoiling a major aspect of Drake’s Deception. Well, just as Uncharted: World of Deceit, these renders aren’t official Uncharted 3 assets and don’t represent the game in any way.

Naughty Dog’s Community Manager, Arne Meyer, has clarified the situation and stated that the renders were nothing more than an art test. [SOURCE]

Shaky-cam footage of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception has cropped up online, showcasing what appears to be the inclusion split-screen cooperative play. Seen below, the short-but-potentially-very-sweet video gives us a brief glimpse of a second screen, featuring a snippet of the traditional Uncharted HUD in this case, the bit with the gun and ammo icon.

Obviously we recommend taking this with a pinch of salt until we hear otherwise, though the footage is perhaps given a little more clout when you consider the fact retailers last year listed the campaign in Nathan Drake’s latest outing for 1-2 players.

Aside from that, there’s also the fact developer Naughty Dog has outright pledged to beef up the series’ multiplayer offerings with Uncharted 3, though quite how remains to be seen. Campaign co-op would certainly fit the bill, however. For now, make of it what you will. Thanks, Eurogamer.

So we were all in awe when the debut trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception was revealed this past weekend, but it may not be the only Uncharted title Sony has in development. According to sources of Galaxy Next Door, Sony Bend is working on a handheld iteration of the franchise – for the PSP2.

The Oregon-based studio, formerly titled Eidetic, created the uber-brilliant Syphon Philter series for PlayStation 2 and PSP as well as the PSP iteration of Insomniac’s Resistance franchise, Resistance: Retribution – so it’s not too far-fetched an idea. It’s all speculation at the moment, so take it kindly if nothing materialises. [SOURCE]

Well, well, well. Rumours of a third Uncharted instalment have been doing the rounds for quite a while now but everything may be coming in to place now for a big reveal.

We want to point your attention to the image above which is the preview page for the next issue of Edge magazine, due to go on sale December 23. Why is it so significant? Well we believe it may hint at Uncharted 3.

There are several reasons behind our logic, so here we go:

Word on the digital street is that Naugty Dog plans to unveil Uncharted 3 during Spike TV’s Video Game Awards next month. There’s also a good chance Sony will follow up this reveal with an official coming out party for the much anticipated follow up to one this generation's most acclaimed titles.

Sources close to Kotaku have let slip that some members of the press have already seen Uncharted 3 for themselves. Couple that with the fact that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves debuted at the 2008 VGAs, and there’s a very good chance a similar situation will occur at this year’s awards show.

Sony is also hosting an “Exclusive PlayStation 3 Reveal” the day after the VGAs, which will either be a big showcase for Nathan Drake’s latest adventure, or a reveal for something else entirely. I know it won't be Gran Turismo 6, but I kind of want it to be. Is that wrong?
