For those of you looking forward to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, we thought we might let you in on a couple of spicy extras you can get if you decide to grab yourself of the Special Edition instead.

GAME, one of the top European computer games retailers has revealed two additional contents that come with the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Special Edition copy that include a game manual that can be folded out into a “map style sheet” and an additional in-game multiplayer bonus. The Power Hunter Kickback will let you see all the available high-level weapon classes on the map you are playing which is pretty cool.

Game has made a detailed list of what comes with the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Special Edition, which now include that of the two additional contents we listed above.

The Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival was held in Cannes in June; a retail-focused festival, publishers bring their games to sunny southern France in the hopes of attracting the attention of Europe's buyers. One way to do that: A sand sculpture!

French marketing crew Urban Act were commissioned to recreate the already iconic image of Drake in front of the crashed plane in the desert to promote Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Note how they've got the workspace roped off, just in case someone's got a Godzilla game to promote. [SOURCE]

Pre-order numbers are often a good indication of future overall sales, and Amazon is reporting some huge numbers for several established franchises. Recently, we heard that Battlefield 3 pre-orders were currently 10 times higher than that of Bad Company 2 at a similar point before release. Now, Amazon UK compares BF3 to its true predecessor (Battlefield 2 on the PC), and the new game is 2,032% higher in regards to pre-orders. Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still topping EA's offering.

But what might be even more impressive is that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception pre-orders are currently up 488% over those for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Remember, as the industry continues to grow, it's a little unfair to compare BF3 to BF2, given the 6-year gap. However, with a nearly 500% leap in pre-orders for the new Uncharted...well damn, it seems Naughty Dog is going to get the financial success they deserve. Which isn't to say Among Thieves didn't sell well; we just think the best game of the generation should've sold more. [SOURCE]

Among the different genres being offered this fall by DC Comics comes a new one in November: Pulp adventure. Uncharted, a new six-issue miniseries, follows the story of Nathan Drake, a modern-day adventurer with a wry sense of humor who claims to be a descendent of Sir Francis Drake. Part Indiana Jones, part Firefly, the Uncharted comic is based on the video game of the same name, which has a new release in November for PlayStation 3 titled, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. But the comic will tell an all-new, original story by up-and-coming writer.

Joshua Williamson, who got a lot of positive buzz from DC fans last year with his Superman/Batman issue that featured the odd team-up of Supergirl and Damian Wayne. Williamson will work with penciller Sergio Sandoval, and they'll get some help from a couple other superstar artists, with Tony Harris on covers and Adam Hughes providing a #1 variant.

The writer is hoping to attract readers to Uncharted who aren't necessarily game players by tapping into the fun of "pulp adventure" and the talent of his artist. But he's also including a lot of surprises for fans of the game. This isn't the first video game property to be picked up by DC, which used to print the properties under its former WildStorm imprint. It joins DC's other video game tie-in titles like Gears of War and World of Warcraft, but has a unique voice with its modern adventure theme. Newsarama talked with Williamson to find out more about the comic.
