Uncharted: Fight for Fortune Review (Vita)

When it was originally discovered that a card game based on the exploits of Nathan Drake was being made, I don’t think anyone jumped for joy or even really cared. Uncharted? Card… battling? The truth is that descriptors like “swash-buckling”, “handsome”, and “action-packed” are entirely antithetical to anyone’s sane perception of a card game.
That remains true today as Uncharted: Fight for Fortune fights for space on your PlayStation Vita. If you’ve played a lot of card games, Fight for Fortune might feel like an odd cross between Magic the Gathering and other resource-based card-fighters. While many of you might be tempted by Nathan Drake’s handsome, chiseled mug, I’m here to reveal that the Uncharted brand and card-battling are two great tastes that should never have been tasted together.

I mean, strictly from a technical standpoint, I think it's plain. They've taken another step by cutting back on that glossy, almost plastic-y sheen we've seen in the past. At the same time, it almost seems as if a touch of the rich color and definition from Uncharted 2 went away with that glossiness. It's certainly more realistic and more accomplished; I'm just not sure I like it more. Sorta torn right now. You also get slightly different facial animations with this sleeker style, and in this respect, I haven't seen enough to make any decisions one way or the other. I'm just wondering what the fans have to say about this.

A recent charity video shows the first sign of Drake’s love interest, Elena, since the end of ‘Uncharted 2.’ This might be a sign that we will see her return in ‘Uncharted 3.’

It’s been almost a month since any significant news has broken pertaining to the PS3 trilogy-closing adventure hit, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Despite having already seen some rather extensive footage of the game, there has been no sign of Elena, Nathan Drake’s love interest. It was only a matter of time until she appeared though, and thanks to a charity video for Japan, the first glance at what her character might look like in Uncharted 3 has hit the net.
Although the Uncharted 3 screenshots do not come from in-game footage, the models for Nathan and Sully are identical in the charity video to their models in the game. In other words, chances are very good Elena’s in-game model will match as well. This all depends on if Elena does actually appear in one of our most anticipated games of this year.
