July 28, 2009 - Gamer's picking up the Best Buy pre-order box of Sony's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves were perhaps shocked to see the game's 1.7GB required install on the back of the package.
Naughty Dog was quick to shoot down this news when co-president Christophe Balestra wrote on his twitter account saying: "Uncharted 2 does not require any install." There was also an update on the official Naughty Dog twitter saying:"We can confirm there is NO mandatory installation for #UNCHARTED2"
According to Naughty Dog's Senior Marketing Manager Arne Meyer on NeoGAF, you can chalk this up as a possible printing error on SCEA's part and notes the number mimics that of Sucker Punch's Infamous. So there you go. No mandatory install for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
