Ever since PlayStation Plus came to the PlayStation Vita back in November 2012, both Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush have been available for free. It was always known that they would be part of the Instant Game Collection for longer than a usual game, but the specific time frame was never nailed down.

Today though, Chris Howe, PS Store and Plus Content Manager at SCEE, took to the EU PS Blog and let us know when these games should be leaving:

When it was originally discovered that a card game based on the exploits of Nathan Drake was being made, I don’t think anyone jumped for joy or even really cared. Uncharted? Card… battling? The truth is that descriptors like “swash-buckling”, “handsome”, and “action-packed” are entirely antithetical to anyone’s sane perception of a card game.

That remains true today as Uncharted: Fight for Fortune fights for space on your PlayStation Vita. If you’ve played a lot of card games, Fight for Fortune might feel like an odd cross between Magic the Gathering and other resource-based card-fighters. While many of you might be tempted by Nathan Drake’s handsome, chiseled mug, I’m here to reveal that the Uncharted brand and card-battling are two great tastes that should never have been tasted together.

Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is the latest installment in Naughty Dog's Uncharted franchise, but it is not what you might expect; it's a card game. Retailing for $4.99 on PSN for the Playstation Vita portable, Fight for Fortune can be had as a standalone game, but is at its best as a supplement to Drake's more traditional outing on the Vita, Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

If you are intimidated by the depth of card games, fear not; the developers have implemented a really easy learning curve. The eight-hour single player features characters from Drake's Fortune, Eye of Indra, and Golden Abyss. Expansion packs are available for $2.99 to add cards from Among Thieves and Drake's Deception.

Each day this week our writer Vaughn will be putting up an article about one particular level, place, moment, in a game that’s really captures the titles essence but because of this there could be spoilers ahead.. It’s called Levelling Out, and for day two he’s looking at Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted seris has fast become a fan favourite amongst PlayStation players. Just like Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter, Uncharted makes a strong case for why you should own a Sony console. It redefined the action/adventure genre and really showed that creating engaging characters and crafting brilliant gameplay together means you can still have an exciting plot that ties all the elements seamlessly together.

Have you checked out that Vita game? You know—the one that's a shoddy spinoff of a big-name series?

Perhaps Call of Duty: Declassified, which currently has a whopping 32% on Metacritic? Or Uncharted: Golden Abyss, a game that our Kirk Hamilton called "a cut-rate version of the Uncharted games that most people have already played"? How about Resistance: Burning Skies, which Kotaku boss Stephen Totilo called "a mediocre new first-person shooter that has no excuses for underachieving"?

With the announcement that Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is coming to the PlayStation Vita on December 4th for $4.99, Bend Studio has released patch 1.03 for Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

The 83 MB update is more or less just to prep the game for Fight for Fortune’s card battling style gameplay, as you can see from the patch notes below:

Royale with cheese
There’s an elephant in the room, and its name is Super Smash Bros. No matter how hard I try, I can’t talk about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale without mentioning the fact that it’s a shameless knockoff of Nintendo’s beloved brawler. It’s so blatant, in fact, that I wouldn’t be surprised if there were high level design meetings where the team played Brawl together and had frank discussions about how much they could get away with stealing before the Big N’s lawyers came knocking down their door.
