Uncharted 3 disappointment: Single player DLC

Back in December we were told that there would be a new DLC for Uncharted 3 in January. Naughty Dog said that they were working on something, but were not prepared to elaborate on this, and we can see why. Fans of Uncharted 3 had best prepare themselves for some disappointment, as there will not be any single player DLC.

The updates will only be for co-op and multiplayer content, and the reason why is because they are now working hard on their next game. Now this does not mean Uncharted 4, it’s more than likely The Last of Us. The developers have said that they are still working on a patch to fix some of the issues that are still causing concern for players, but we have yet to learn when this will be ready.

There will be some Uncharted 3 players that finished playing the Uncharted 3 single player game feeling like they want more, the story was great and left us looking to see if there would be any single player DLC in the near future. We already know this will not happen, although it won’t stop other players that finished the game looking for this information.

This brings us back to the issue of developers wanting to jump onto the next game and earning more money that way, rather than focusing on making great games even better. Should we really be shocked by what we have read here, when it comes to why Naughty Dog has decided against the single player DLC?

The sad fact of the matter is, they were not prepared to add more content to a game, which we have to say were sad when it came to an end. We have grown to love Nathan Drake and would have been a nice touch if we had just a little more content to stop us falling into Skyrim once again.

This hasn’t stopped players posting ideas for single player DLC, while some would like to see a mini adventure with Elena, others suggest that they would like to see what happens when Chloe and Cutter separate from Nathan and Sully. These ideas, as suggested here does make you think that there is much more to come from Uncharted 3, it’s just a shame that Naughty Dog does not share the same views.

However, not all gamers will share this view, as some would much rather see what Naughty Dog can come up with next, again we know this to be The Last of Us. The idea of Uncharted 4 is a pleasing one, but there should now be a bit of a gap, and suggestions that it could be a PS4 title is something that has come up for debate. We believe it will happen, while others suggest that this is the end of the road for Drake.
